Hey everyone, I just realized that it’s been about 4 months since my ablation and I had been asked about how it had gone since then. You can read about the procedure and recovery period here.
So. I had the procedure done in May and I’m so glad I did. If you recall, my periods were lasting for days…. like 15 days. It was inconvenient, painful and exhausting. It interrupted my life and work and completely got in the way.
I had the procedure on a Tuesday. I went back to work on Thursday night. I felt pretty good, and just had some mild discomfort for the first half of my 12 hour shift, but then felt back to normal. After the procedure there is some bleeding, up to about 10 days. Mine went for about 12 days and it was like a light period (you know, for normal people).
It may not be for everyone, but I’m so glad that I did it. I’m so grateful to have a physician that listened to me and heard what I said and what I didn’t. If you’re having any of the issues I had (and are done having children) then have an open and honest conversation with a physician you trust.
The last 4 months flew by and we got through the summer and Avery started Kindergarten. Noah is getting ready to start 5th grade and I’m about to start a new job (more on that soon).
Hope some of this information can help. As a reminder, I’m not here to give any kind of medical advice, but only to tell about my experience.
Have a great day!
